COLORBOND® steel Matt Indonesia Launching Program – BlueScope Australia Tour 2023
28 October – 1 November 2023, The COLORBOND® steel Indonesia team, with customers (Roll-Former Partners), joined a tour as part of the COLORBOND® steel Matt Launching Program, with a visit to one of Australia's national projects, the Australian National Maritime Museum. This museum preserves the history of developments from the past to the present in Australian maritime affairs through art gallery exhibitions, artifacts, and other exhibits.
This museum is also located on the edge of the sea waters of the harbour. Standing proudly, this building looks elegant and modern with the dark gray color of COLORBOND® steel. The museum has one of the largest and most diverse in-water fleets in the world, including the Cold War submarine HMAS Onslow, naval destroyer HMAS Vampire, and the stunning replica of Captain Cook's tall ship HMB Endeavour
Even though it contains historical relics from the past, this building still looks modern, contemporary and aesthetic.
The form was inspired by the techniques and geometrical rigour of boat building while the conceptual approach closely referenced the wake of a boat as it passes though the water. The COLORBOND® steel Indonesia team was welcomed and accompanied directly by the Project Manager from Australian National Maritime Museum.
The main part of the BlueScope Australia tour program is to bring the Indonesian team to visit to BlueScope Australia Factory & Innovation Lab at Port Kembla and BlueScope Lysaght Australia at Emu Plains.
